My position with Wawa’s PR and Community Care team I gained experience with managing in-kind donations and event support and event planning. Supporting a quantity of events included partners like CHOP, LLS, Susan G Komen, USO, American Red Cross, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) and Special Olympics. Additionally supporting other events like Wawa Hoagie Day, Wawa Welcome America, Juneteenth, Ben to the Shore, Run for Blue and store grand openings. Through this experience I have gained insight on logistical calls, floor plans, coordination and delegation. Building personable relationships, clear communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment were all skills I have acquired to assist in these events to successfully execute events with support to the community

From PR Plan, this is an individual carry-out tactic. This is an invitation to be distributed, posted and shared with big business leaders and other large donors to the GC YMCA. The event would invite them to a GC YMCA youth activity (field day, sporting event). Giving them the chance to speak directly to the children and seeing how the community center is essential to the community. This tactic is framing emotion as a strategy to these large donors as they directly see the role of the center to the kids.

Compose a full public relations plan book with peers through PR Planning course. The Gloucester County YMCA was seeking ways to promote and increase funding and donations through public relations. Conducted was primary and secondary research, issues, objectives, strategies and tactics that were presented and given to the client directly. This section of the plan includes objectives, strategies, tactics, and carry-out tactics with visual samples

This section is mainly research including an annual report analysis, competition communication audit, scholarly article analysis, and survey results.

Compose social media captions for AKCG client for different social platforms. The posts include a link to blogs created that share information among the clients several affiliates. The captions were created depending on the social platform and audience, while being mindful of word count and hashtag usage in order to represent a consistent tone of the client.

Study local news outlets to send this article. The article was created to promote and give insight on the client’s internship program. Touching on the benefits and experience the intern had through this program. It was created to share the success story and drive new students to be apart of this internship program.
